Many of you have been asking us about the benefits of CBD oil.

CBD oil has been in all the press and there are hundreds of products on the market today and we have been considering it and researching it for a while.

We are super cautious about adding new products to offer to our patients.

As with all our vitamins and supplements, we want third party testing to ensure quality and reliability. We want to make sure all our products are beneficial to patients and of the best quality available. We investigate them thoroughly before we recommend anything.

So it has taken us a while to decide if CBD oil is really as beneficial as marketing says it is, and we determined it is.  Then we took our time to choose the best product on the market.

So how does CBD oil work?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of over 113 cannabinoids found in industrial hemp that has medicinal benefits to the body’s endocannabinoid system. (In the 1990s, scientists discovered endocannabinoids, the natural cannabis-like molecules produced by the human body.)

Unlike THC, which is found in marijuana, there are no psychoactive side effects of CBD.

There are CB1 and CB2 receptors in the body that play a crucial role in regulating processes of the brain, nervous system, digestive, cardiovascular, and many other systems and tissues .

Not all CBD oil is created equal.

Hemp contains many beneficial compounds other than CBD that are called phytocannabinoids (cannabinoids that occur naturally in the cannabis plant).

The oil we are carrying is made from hemp distillate, a gentle extraction process that keeps the full spectrum of these compounds intact.

They also use chromatography (a laboratory technique for the separation of a mixture) to remove 99.97% of the THC out of the oil without damaging any of the plant’s healthy phytocannabinoids.

Essentially this means this process allows the oil to retain all the beneficial cannabinoids of the plant and to be more fully absorbable by the body. They are also organic and non-GMO with a full inspection of the process and final product.

Stay tuned for our next blog where we will discuss the benefits and what patients have found.
