For a long time, I have adopted just 2 daily steps that keep me grateful (and happy)!
1. Every morning I write 10 things for which I am grateful.
2. Every evening on my drive home I say out loud the events during the day for which I am grateful.
Starting and ending my day with gratitude keeps me in a happy place.
Recently, one of my patients asked if I could help her husband with depression.
I asked her what was going on and she told me her husband was a dentist and so depressed he couldn’t get out of bed. He was on multiple medications and in counseling but this had gone on so long she was afraid he was going to lose his practice.
She brought him into the office that day and after a consultation and examination, we began treating him with adjustments. He gradually improved and is now back to work full time in his practice.
He has been able to wean himself off his anti-depressants and anti-anxiety drugs.
I also taught him my system for gratitude. He thinks we walk on water (because the chiropractor adjustments helped him so much) so he has adopted this simple, 2 step practice also.
Consider creating a regular gratitude practice for yourself. Ask us for ideas and we’ll be happy to help.
