Dr. Shannan was born and raised on a farm near Fairfield, Iowa. Growing up on a farm instilled a strong work ethic and a common-sense approach which he brings to his practice.

While Dr. Shannan was studying pre-medicine at Iowa State University he was helped by a chiropractor. It was then that he realized his own philosophy was more in tune with the natural, holistic approach that chiropractic care offered.

He went on to receive his Doctorate of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1986 and has continued to expand his knowledge of patient care through ongoing education and by obtaining numerous additional certifications.

After playing 4 years of soccer at Heidelberg University and graduating with an athletic training degree, Dr. Katie Harris moved to St. Louis to start her education in chiropractic.

Upon graduating from Logan College of Chiropractic in early 2015, Dr. Harris settled into her new home, Worthington.

With an extensive history of knee and low back pain, Dr. Harris strives to provide excellent chiropractic care to patients of all ages.

Dr. Harris’ hobbies include anything outdoors and spending time with her son Will, and 2 rescue dogs.

Dr. Hughes graduated from Life University’s Chiropractic program in Atlanta, Georgia, after obtaining his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University.

Dr.Hughes’ chiropractic journey began at just two hours old when he was adjusted by his aunt, Dr. Julia Keiser. Chiropractic care then helped Dr.Hughes as a young athlete during swim and water polo season to maintain his peak performance.

Dr.Hughes now continues that journey at Worthington Optimal Wellness where he adjusts young athletes, families, and anyone looking to build a healthier lifestyle.
