Spring has sprung!
Winter is behind us and the weather is finally catching up. It’s time to get outside and feel the healing power of nature!
According to the American Psychological Association, “time in nature can improve our mental health and sharpen our cognition. From a stroll through a city park to a day spent hiking in the wilderness, exposure to nature has been linked to a host of benefits, including improved attention, lower stress, better mood, reduced risk of psychiatric disorders and even upticks in empathy and cooperation.
That is a lot of goodness. Let’s repeat the benefits of getting outside in spring:
- improved attention
- lower stress
- better mood
- reduced risk of psychiatric disorders
- empathy and cooperation
And the best part is nature is free! There are so many ways to enjoy nature and enjoy the health benefits, whether you’re in the city, or in the country. It’s as easy as walking around your neighborhood, or gardening in your own yard. There are hundreds of parks to explore just in Ohio.
How about traveling our beautiful country this spring/summer?

Here are some fun ways to spring into health:
- Move your muscles. Run, walk, fish, bike, hike, and swim.
- Savor the sensations of spring. Breath in the fresh air. Enjoy the colors and the newness of the flowers and budding trees.
- Spring-clean your brain. Springtime is full of new beginnings and fresh starts. Take time to check in on your mental health. Journal, meditate, get creative. Prioritize positivity and wellness!
- Enjoy seasonal foods. It’s time for farmers’ markets again! Have fun exploring the markets for fresh flowers, fruits, and vegetables (bonus – you get fresh air as well).
Get your body in shape this spring.
Spring is a great time to get into a routine of working out. We all like to hibernate in the winter (it’s a natural phenomenon). The pounds may have packed on. Stretch, do yoga, start a walking routine, play badminton, golf, play tennis, and fly kites are a few ideas. Yes, we said fly kites! When is the last time you flew a kite? You don’t know how? Well, check out this article on how to fly a kite, and get flying!
Get adjusted with some chiropractic adjustments this spring.
