Have you heard all the talk of Vitamin D lately?

There have been all kinds of information out lately about Vitamin D.

Vitamin D is viewed as one of the most important vitamins needed for the day-to-day function of our bodies. Our bodies form this essential vitamin when exposed to the sun. We then use it to improve our immune function, increase calcium absorption, and strengthen muscle, bone, and heart health.

There are not a lot of foods that contain vitamin D, which is why a supplement is helpful!

Unfortunately, with it being so gray and dark for the winter months in Ohio, our bodies have a harder time producing vitamin D, so it is a great time to pick some up as our supplement of the month!

According to WebMD vitamin D may help fight COVID19.

At least half of Americans are deficient in Vitamin D (according to the same article in WebMD. This leads to fatigue, hair loss, delayed wound healing… and decreased immune health, which is why it’s been talked about so much lately. A healthy immune system is critical to fighting off COVID19.

If you’ve been reading our blog posts at all over the last year, we have been talking a lot about the immune system and how critical it is to fight off COVID19 or any other virus for that matter.

But before you run out and start gobbling up Vitamin D supplements, know that too much is not good for you either. Stick with the recommended dosage on the bottle. Don’t take extra thinking that more is better. Too much vitamin D can even cause “Vitamin D toxicity”.  According to the Mayo Clinic.

Also, consider the source of the supplements you take. They are not all high-quality. That is why we are offering 10% off certain ones each month!
